Collected Information - Voluntary

ApprovedinVancouver.com (from this point on referred to as "AIV") does not collect or obtain any personal or contact information about its users without their express, prior permission.

Newsletter Information:

When users initiate the loan request function, they are also simultaneously subscribed to the AIV newsletter, and this is cleary disclosed on the initial Loan Request form as a link titled "Newsletter Information".

AIV uses a reputable, CAN-SPAM compliant newsletter management service. AIV only sends email communications to users who specifically request information about lending options, and/or request for mortgage brokers to contact them regarding a loan.

If a subscribed user wishes to unsubscribe from the newsletter for any reason, he or she may do so instantly by following the automated unsubscribe link, located in the footer of every email. In addition, the user may email us at contact@shangriloan.com, or by mail at:

The data collected by our newsletter system will be used for marketing purposes related to topics on mortgages, lending products or similarly relevant content.

The data collected by our full-form loan request (hosted on the secure server environment at secure.shangriloan.com) is both stored by Shangri Loan Ventures in our own database, as well as distributed to advertisers who match our criteria as financing professionals for the area in which a user has requested help in obtaining financing.

AIV does sell information voluntarily submitted by its users to cooperating advertisers who can potentially assist the user in obtaining a loan.

Collected Information - Involuntary

The only information collected involuntarily from all visitors is basic geographic, referral, on-site navigation patterns and IP information for the purpose of tracking our website traffic statistics. We use this data in order to improve our website & user experience, as well as measuring the effectiveness of our advertising & marketing efforts.

Data is not evaluated on a "user by user" basis, but rather in the aggregate on a mass scale. We look at the overall patterns based on the statistical information collected from thousands of visitors.

The data is collected (and stored) by our preferred & reputable traffic analysis service. The data is stored securely and is not publicly available. Only AIV (ownership & staff) can access this statistical data, without exception.

This data is collected through the use of a simple javascript script on each page of AIV, and does not interfere with or affect the user's internet browsing program whatsoever.

AIV does NOT use spyware, adware, viruses, trojans or otherwise any invasive, involuntary methods to increase incoming traffic, or otherwise for any other purpose.

Security Policy:

The full loan request form (on Shangriloan.com's secure server area, https://secure.shangriloan.com) is protected and encrypted by a SSL V3 connection signed and secured by Comodo, and the secure server environment is managed by Dreamhost LLC.

From there, the data is stored in a secured location on our own servers, as well as transmitted to participating advertisers and our own archiving system, in relation to the type of loan request that was received.

At all times, your data is kept safe and secure behind a 128-bit encryption environment.

While nobody can guarantee 100% "security" in an online environment, ShangriLoan uses military-grade encryption and security measures on par with the systems used by online banking services, and similarly sensitive applications.
